In its most general form, the goal of psychological counseling is to help the client solve his problem. Recognize and change ineffective behavior patterns in order to make important decisions, resolve emerging problems, achieve your goals, live in harmony with yourself and the world around you.

Rimantas Kociunas says that this professional activity arose in response to the needs of people who, without clinical disorders, were still looking for psychological help. That is why, psychological counseling specialists help, first of all, people who experience difficulties in everyday life, activities, communication, etc.

Counseling has its own structure and stages. With different types of clients  the counseling process can take on its own specifics.​

And modern means of communication have made popular a form of remote counseling that is different from the face-to-face meeting between the client and the therapist. At the same time, a remote session has little in common with a regular telephone conversation or an online Skype meeting.

This block is led by two professionals in the field of counseling and psychotherapy.

In the first part of this block, with the psychologist and psychotherapist Olga Korzhova, we will talk about the structure and process of counseling; the importance of contact and therapeutic presence; about the types of contracts and their impact on the process.

In practice, we will develop the skills necessary for effective consultants / psychotherapists

In the second part , with the doctor of psychological sciences Anna Vereshchagina , we will talk about such issues as:
- Counseling different types of clients  (Specific family counseling, children, adolescents) What difficulties can there be? What problems do they come with?
- Principles of online counseling
