Seminar  will be conducted by psychotherapist Irina Kazakova (Austria)
Historically, the idea of transference and countertransference as a way of describing what happens between therapist and patient belongs to the psychoanalytic tradition. Its key virtue is its empirical origin, that is, its origin directly from
experience of trial and error of specific people who created a new way
treatment of mental suffering without the use of medical instruments
and procedures, asserting the idea that the psychic can be treated by the psychic.
The idea that in a certain way organized interaction of two people is enough to treat mental illnesses became revolutionary at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.

The concepts of transference and countertransference still remain central to understanding psychoanalytic technique and the essence of the analytic process, however, along with the accumulation of psychotherapeutic experience, their content
constantly transformed and enriched.
We will try to trace the main stages of this transformation and consider a number of interesting clinical examples in this vein.
